Chinese corp. wants to build an electric car factory in Chile

Chinese corp. wants to build an electric car factory in Chile

Postby Space Cat » Wed Sep 06, 2017 12:26 pm

CORFO reports that a country has a chance to start doing something more complex with copper and lithium instead of just exporting:

Let's keep fingers crossed that the current administration will not touch this project. xP

Yeah, right! In your dreams (under ANY administration)!
Would you buy a car built by "I-don't-give-a-shit-about-quality-workmanship" Chileans?

Maybe it would work if they hired only immigrants.

Would be interesting to hear the inside story from MAERSK and their plant in San Antonio, Chile and if the "work of chilenos" has met their golas of export quality refrigerated containers. If so, then there is hope for more especially if most workers are chilenAs and trained from scratch.
Generally, just a SPAM KILLER. You are on your own in this forum. My personal mission here is done.

BUT when necessary, by way of ridicule and truth revelation we shalt do war.

Yes, why not? To be honest this constant shitting on everything Chilean feels tiresome.

Especially considering that you has already left for the righteous Anglo country where everything is perfect.

I agree, I see excellent workmanship and quality all the time, and as in any country, if your work sucks you don't get the jobs and you either meet the standard or change career paths.........

Im fine with that.

Chile will be happy to accept the half trillion dollars the chinese will need to invest in chile to find that out.

If we just land 0.00001% of that in contracts to explain that to them, i will be a very happy camper.

In addition, building cars is manufacturing, it is not like making a violin by hand. Chileans had no problems manufacturing cluster bombs.

Like admin says, it is not important quality of production, as long as big money comes in, but selling those EV regardless of who assembles them, with brands such as: Geely, Cherry, Jack, Hongoi, BYD etc. unloading to the market place will be impossible..In Peru, Chinese made cars are financed in Gas Stations..owners of china-cars every time they put gas, portion of spent amount goes for car payment! Mass production isn't rocket science. I lived in Camaçari, where the Ford factory is located at Brazil, and most of its employees came from a very "backward" bush city. Turns out you can get anyone to do a good enough menial labor if you have enough resources to train and a good management system.

Yeah, before Asia all the factories were outsourced to LA. Ecuador makes cars of Japanese brands, Intel built a factory in Costa Rica in 90s.

But somehow top-performing economy of LA with huge experiences in fields like mining and EQ resistant structures can't manage a vehicle assembly line. Rrrrright.

Chile assembled minis in the north during the 60s (I think) didn't last long as minis went out of production everywhere for many years....
