Re: Chile Residency, Citizenship, tourism and Criminal records

On the other hand, I think that most countries do not send small crimes to international databases plus small crimes tend to "expire" fast to be included in a police record that is now required for the citizenship.

Re: Chile Residency, Citizenship, tourism and Criminal records

As far as I understand, this starts at " crimen o simple delito " tiers. "Falta" tier (less than 60 days of jail) is ok. Faltas: grado mínimo: 1 día a 20 días. " medio: 21días a 40 días. " máximo: 41días a 60 días. Todas estas son prisión. Simples delitos: grado mínimo:...

Re: Best phone and internet companies?

Internet – Telefónica del Sur: fast, very stable, available only in Southern Chile Phone – Virgin Mobile: simple to understand anti-plans and bolsas, nice site to manage everything from Internet, it uses Movistar's cell towers and network in general Better don't get anything from VTR if you can avo...

Re: Holiday Wednesday 19th April for Census

Interesting that they haven't included religion. It seems quite "neutral" compared to skipped income- or property-related questions.

Re: Chile Stock Market Rally, beats all other EM markets

This headline is a bit alarmist, but the overall article is fairly good coverage of the issues going in to the election. 2018 is expected to produce 3% growth (not so sure about that, but perhaps 2019). https://www.ft.com/content/6e681350-2378-11e7-a34a-538b4cb30025 any non subscriber link ? Re: US Pay|Spouse|Mortgage|Loans

I don't have any Chilean bank account but I got the SII.cl login and password by visiting their office and now their site says that I don't owe anything (less than 3 years in the country) but can still declare if I want.

The form looks scary though. I hope I will not screw it up. xP

Our friend from PDI talked about it last week. They are aware of this kind of problems and everybody will be vigilant tomorrow.

Re: Transferring money

Yes, I heard about issues with scalability but overall these problems are not important for my case since I don't need small transactions or anonymity. I need some stable way to get salary-sized amounts of money to Chile without explaining "freelancing" and "selling apps on the Intern...

Re: Transferring money

I sent US$1300 to my landlord's Santander account via Transferwise recently.

It arrived without an issue in 3-4 days, converted to CLP with a good exchange rate (659). The fee was US$19.
