The outbreak in Osorno that makes 58% of the total cases in Los Lagos is tied to a religious group that decided to continue congregating.

Port workers threatening to go on strike unless the entire country is placed under strict quarantine.

so the 3.2 million unemployment claims seems to have the talking heads talking in the U.S.

It apears that is not even registering a fraction of the unemployed in the united states, and this is not even the first 30 days.

"The Bureau of Labor Statistics will publish on April 3 its first estimate of March unemployment. You might expect that this official report will finally offer clarity on the economic picture in the U.S.
Don’t get your hopes up. According to the Cornell economist Erica Groshen, the report will tell us practically nothing about what happened in the second half of March. “The initial BLS surveys are conducted the week of the 12th of each month,” she told me. “So in April we will get an estimate of the unemployment rate from the week of March 12.”
March 12 was the Thursday before many states and cities announced, the following Sunday, that they would be closing all restaurants and bars. The economy in the first two weeks of March was entirely different from the economy in these past two weeks of March. We won’t have an accurate picture of the March unemployment rate until the BLS releases its next revision, in May, an eternity in pandemic timekeeping."

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ now shows USA at no 1 for total known, recorded, tested, verified cases. However USA is only 6th for deaths, far behind Italy.

The united banana republics of America now has more cases than Italy and China, at over 82,000 confirmed cases.

look at that map. there are massive segments of the united states without confirmed cases, and I guarantee you it is not because there are no cases there.

so I was driving from frutillar to llanquiheu this evening on the back road.

right exactly where the county line is, there was a carbinareios parked with a checkpoint. they were just sitting in their car, with a cone in the middle of the road.

I have been driving that road for over 10 years, sometimes 10 times a day, and I have never ever seen the police. not one. let alone a check point.

My bet, they are gearing up to shutdown the regions / towns.
