...but try to propose public healthcare or college and every US right-winger* goes full "HOWUGONPAYFORIT" mode.

By the way, still no US elections thread this time!
It falls squarely under the category of: NO ONE GIVES A SHIT RIGHT NOW!!!

The IPSA crashed 10.6% with the new phase 4 news.

and somehow that is like the least of my concerns today.

If we are stuck in this sort of quarantine for 60+ days almost world wide what does that look like? How long do we have to stay isolated for the flattened, long tail of this thing to disappear? If it isn't going to disappear, when and how do we ever return to "normal" activity? Could this potentially completely crash the global economy as we know it? very difficult not to get swept up in hysteria if i'm honest

It's kind of irrelevant at this stage, they might as well be zero

Both Sky Airlines and Jetsmart should be issuing their press releases in the next few days. As far as I could find, Sky and Jetsmart are still operating normally.

So here is the snapshot of our strategy
Start to unwind short position which we initiated on February 26
Monetize volatility through variance swaps and other short vol strategies
Be ready to enter some select long position (so far correction has been almost indiscrimate with cruise ship operator dropping the same as pharmaceutical companies)
Once infection rates in major economies (incremental daily infections) stabilize start building a long position in the broad market
Whatever you do: stay in the most liquid markets only, liquidity has completely drained, you may be right on your trade idea, but you may not be able to execute

LATAM cried for help from the Chilean states despite having only 15% of profits in the country (39% in Brazil, 10% in the US). Luckily, the economy minister just teased them in response:

The classic case of privatizing profits and socializing losses.

I saw that Cencosud is at its lowest since 2004. Assuming that people will start buying stuff in the not too distant future, maybe it’s not a bad time to invest ?

In Chile CFMITNIPSA ETF is better than stock-picking. I stock-picked a bit of LATAM back when Renta4 didn't have access to that ETF and it has been always down since then (–82.6% now). Hopefully I will be able to finally sell it in 10–15 years without a loss, heh.

I'm waiting for a larger slide to buy some boring Vanguard ETFs. Check out VTI+VXUS for US residents or Irish accumulating All-World VWRA (or its EUR/GBP equivalents) for everyone else.
