Do you need a single status certificate for a foreigner to marry a Chilean?

As someone who recently married a Chilean in Chile, I can confirm that you do not.

I did Union Civil in 2018 and Registro requested a certificate from my embassy proving I didn't have a married status on the country of my nationality. The reason was, they told me, to prevent bigamy.

Civil in 2012 in Concon. No docs required.

We both looked about 15 yrs old at the time so maybe that had something to do with it
