Fine if you're in North America.

Hanta virus strains in Chile, the vectors, the statistics, the pathology, and the available treatment resources, are different here.

For example, Andes hanta virus (ANDV) is the only hanta virus for which person-to-person transmission has been proven, and this characteristic differs from the conventional wisdom in North America.
Actually the person-to-person transmission is the only thing really worth mentioning. The vectors are rodents, and the rest of the information about how to clean and how to protect oneself is still valid. The pathology is the one I referenced in the link I provided. The resources will be different, but that might be true also in different areas of the US. And it has nothing to do with 'conventional wisdom'.

For some reason the name is a single word, 'hantavirus'.

The pathology is different, the rodents are different (at least ten species have been identified in Chile which carry hantavirus), mortality rates in North America differ from those in Chile, and there are protection measures that are now recommended here that differ from those in the cites previously mentioned.
'The pathology is different'. - Different?

'Ten species of rodent'. - So, how does it make a difference which one?

'there are protection measures that are now recommended here that differ from those in the cites previously mentioned'. - Such as ???

Can birds or chickens or livestock or other animals carry/spread this?
Also, what is a hantavirus aerosol?

It seems that only rodents have been implicated so far, but your second question could link the two. If the feed for the chicken or livestock contain dry poop from an infected rodent, you are at risk.
....infected rodents shed virus in saliva, urine, and feces...
Aerosol would be the small particles in suspension in the air, and I would think that the dust could be something to keep in mind.

If you look at the link I posted earlier, there are some PDF files with information, such as 'Prevent Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome'.

Uh oh, one man has died in Los Rios:

And this is the second fatal case this year, there was one more in Temuco.

By the way, I'm thinking about getting a ferret because my cat will bring dead mice to the bed. ヽ( ꒪д꒪ )ノ

Oh, no! This indicates the need for A LOT more government control!

I accept chaos. I'm not sure whether it accepts me.

Why do you try to plug your political views into every discussion? :?

I will not turn libertarian by reading it, same for other forum members.

So your content becomes noise and decreases signal/noise ratio of this community.
