Just read in aljazeera that Chile is giving Palestinian refugees from the middle east citizenship. Not a residency visa, just straight to citizenship.

That would take a spefic act of congress, and i have not seen any crediable source that anything like that.

Would however explain the sudden spike in phone calls and emails i am getting from palestinens. Historically, we get very few inquiries from palestines interested in chile.

Stupid publicatiins like that around the middle east happens every so often, and we get a spike in contacts.

Well looks like about 100,000+ have filed for the amnysty.

More interesting the number of haiten tourist visas processed in haiti. To date, only 76 aplications, 66 rejections, and only 2 have been approved.

What am going to do is start sending a bill to pinera (personally, not the goverment ) every time i get a call from some frigen african or middle eastern country and the person on the other end of the line does not even know the name of the country they want to immigrate to. Over the years i have had some interesting pronounciations of "chile", but i could at least detect what they intended to say.

Now i am getting calls from like nigeria, and we play 20 questions to try and figure out where it is they want to immigrate to. BUY A MAP!!!!

The headlines seem to have spread around the world about the amenesty, and i believe most desperate people never read beyond the head line.
