And, if you ban all the left wing sources, do you also ban all the right wing sources. Then, who's left?
Its fair enough to exclude the loony stuff but Al Jazeera doesn't fit that category.

"I always tease my wife that Chileans are a bunch of cultural hypochondriacs. first sign of the sniffles, and it is off to the emergency room."
Perhaps if there was easier access to what Americans consider "Over the counter" remedies, and the ability to keep a supply on hand, emergency room visits would be reduced.

We chose the private clinic because we didn't want to be waiting forever on a public hospital for a test, thus increasing even more the risk of infection.admin wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 8:46 amwell, the answer is try and find a public clinic to run the test.PXYC wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 11:33 pmWe tried to have a covid exam this weekend, as my partner is a doctor studying for psych specialty on Barros Lucos and was having mild cold symptoms since friday night, but simply could not find any private hospital running exams except for Clinica Alemana. So I can only guess all those "new cases" are very very undervalued.
And on the other side, it's unfortunate that doctors studying speacialty are totally unprotected, working without a contract there isn't exactly an internal procedure to follow.
that said, you know I don't find that all that surprising. they said they were going to crackdown. The minister of health went off on the private clinics in Santiago during a press conference a couple weeks ago. The private clinics were running hundreds of tests, on simply paranoid rich people, with no epidemiological information or reason being provided in the national databases. You would probably have to go through the emergency rooms to get tested at one of them now.
Anyway the test is not exactly painless, you feel the stick entering your nose almost up to your brain

And out of 120 doctors that left Concepción university in 2012, around 10% was/is infected - they ran a stadistic this weekend on their whatsapp thing.

I honestly don't understand the benefit of the test. The symptoms you describe sound like the flu or a cold. Regardless of a positive or negative test, the basic prescription will be the same. Go home, get better and try not to infect anyone. Is this off base? I am legitimately curious. Thanks in advance.

A recent CADEM poll has been released:

Piñera's approval is at its highest since October, and 81% of those interviewed agree with the food boxes being delivered as a public policy. The article has the full poll results at the end.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile
I have new pet theory on why the death rates in Chile and a lot of other countries are so low.
simply, culture of nursing homes vs. taking care of the elderly at home.
Asia, for example, has a culture of families take care of the elderly at home.
I need to go dig out some stats.
Even if one elderly is infected, at home, it does not spread to hundreds of others.

Anyone could please clarify, does this mean "obligatory" only when "driving" on a public road, or this includes everyone (walking)?

So it applies to people walking and biking, as well as to people on cars with 2+ people.
