someone needs to get their balls cut off and be strung-up for the decision to let that frigen cruise ship land people.

second case in Aysen, hospital worker that had contact with that British patient.

The navy should have simply sunk the ship. It was direct threat Chile. The fucking captain should be in prison, COVID-19 section.

They brought an infected ship in to a town that did not even have a doctor, in one of the most remote places on earth.

the irresponsible level that is mind blowing.

My wife and I drove most of that road last summer. It is a good 6+ hours of hard dirt road driving, with very little between there and COYHAIQUE.

Argentina is going to blowup.

they went from only so far being able to test 100 people per day, to 200 now.

supposedly they are suppose to get the provinces the ability to test this week.

but currently it sounds like it is taking two to three days to get a test completed, if they are testing at all.

It will probably blow up, it’s been factored into the discussion here. The Instituto Malbrán which up to now has been the only testing institute here, claims 48hr turnaround from posting the samples from the provinces to getting the result. Testing has only been done on suspected (symptomatic) cases.

I tried to find what the turnaround time in Chile is but I didn’t get any info. Apart from any turnaround lag you can expect that the numbers in Chile are a possibly very large underestimate given that testing isn’t free.

A terrifying possibility with more than 21 MILLION cellphone users disappearing in the last 3 months in China.

I have seen various numbers go by. 12 to 48 hours.

There was some discussion recently however of bringing all the salmon testing facilities online to test for covid. They have massive capacity and experience with viruses, because, well they seem always be dealing with outbreaks of one kind or another. everytime they had another big outbreak, the government forced them to add more testing capacity.

or, people are just poorer and dropped the expensive cell phone rather than not pay their rent.

117 new cases on Argentina, 2 new deaths (possibly 3), believe total is 9.

there seems to be some reclassification going on with the numbers. not sure what that means.
