About 2 or 3 AM was watching yet another fire in the city. Am reading in the news now that we have lost the Hites store.

https://www.biobiochile.cl/noticias/nac ... aiso.shtml

Right now two helicopters are circulating between the ocean and the nearest hill, flying over my building, making lots of noise, fighting with a fresh fire there. Will look in the news, what's there.

they said they cut it on purpose because lots of water hoses and people around electric lines. there were volunteers dragging hoses on to roofs of houses to get at fires on the next houses, and from what they were showing on the news not the greatest wiring jobs in those neighborhoods.

So , these fires are just an extension of the burning of shops and looting? Would anyone else be making that connection ? or is it the otherside ? or just dickhead arsonists like e other years ? I haven't heard much of the people that were arrested .

I'm sorry, I know they might think they are helping but these people are stupid , told to evaluate and all they do is get in the way of the fire brigade, mobs trying to put out friggin fires with buckets and shit.
Sure as anything they will probably complain that help didn't come fast enough.

From the guy in charge of the emergency :

He added that “the work of extinguishing a fire of these characteristics must be done by people with full knowledge. We are talking about a very dangerous fire and for that job there are the Firefighters and there are Conaf technicians. ”

He concluded by pointing out that "this is not a job for the community, especially if it is done as disorganized as it is being done now."

Disorganized, really? what a surprise? Guess they only good at organizing the starting of fires here , not putting them out .

Honestly, I lost count of the fires here during the last weeks. Many of them were visible from either balcony, or common areas of the building, this is a tall building (27 floors) on top of a hill.

Regarding the most recent 4 in the urban zone (Playa Ancha yesterday, the Hites store at 2 AM, this one on Rodelillo 18:00, and the other one in Viña del Mar 19:30) they always try to make connection: https://www.biobiochile.cl/noticias/nac ... aiso.shtml

Who knows, in reality.

The entire area, really huge, that I liked to hike -- and there were wonderful trails, some 10 or 20 km long, in many directions, starting from Curauma/Placilla -- is not in the best shape.

Especially so, as they now require to report any suspicious person seen in the forest to the authorities.

Anyone hiking with no purpose looks suspicious, no?..
