That's a laugh, one they are in full riot gear, good luck stun gunning them. Clearly they just abduct her for the sake of it. That was no arrest. Good try at justifying something that is clearly wrong, the Carabinero doesn't even look at her phone, he just goes for her. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.chilechinadollz wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 7:51 pmRegarding this video. Could look at if from a different perspective. Just saying... but there are guns and stun guns made to look like Iphones, in Chile police are schooled to look for these. Since that young woman was inserting herself into the middle of an active arrest rather aggressively, multiple times she was pushed away...

Re: State of emergency and curfews, October 2019
That reminds me of a fight outside a pub in the Falklands. A bunch of squadies (that's British army) were fighting a couple of big local farmers, huge punch up. And one policemen and one policewomen turn up on foot, just stand and watch, as at the time they didn't use to have CS Spray, Taser, nothing but a baton. Traditionally they just wait for the army police to turn up. Then the girlfriend of one of the locals started swearing at the police for doing nothing, I think she got one brief warning before being arrested... In the mean time the fist fight continued drawing in more people. It was such an out cry/embarrasment the police got CS sprey on the next flight from the UK.Britkid wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 7:57 pmThe other thing that really worries me is all these people screaming "paco culiado" and whatever else and going nuts in the videos. They just lose their head. If there are enough people like that, we are all in trouble. Most of these videos seem to have at least one person screeching and losing control. They make me nervous.

The end of the article says what they were made of:Dosedmonkey wrote:
I believe they are just made of a hard rubber.
But you read the article, it doesn't tell you the percentage of the other composites. So completely suspect, as silica, silicon, is just synthetic rubber and probably accounts for the other 79%.... Honest why would they put lead in it. It probably is steel or iron too. The whole article looks like the least scientific thing I have read this year...You just replied to a quote with the following headline:
Balines usados por Carabineros: Estudio revela que solo un 20% de su composición es de goma
When only 20% is rubber, I don't think it makes too much difference if that 20% is hard or soft rubber.
I mean they're just a reporter writing propoganda. I'm just an engineer who works with materials every day, so what would I know....
And yeah I know my history too, especially military, hence knowing there is a lot of different types of weapons that count as catapults.
Barium sulphate is a high density rubber compound.
Rubber is rubber, and barium sulfate is not rubber, and silica is not rubber either..
With a hardness of 96.5 in a scale of 100, I don't think anybody would be saying 'It's just rubber'.
Sorry, but you presented yourself as a marine engineer, not anything else.Barium sulfate (the mineral baryte, BaSO4) is important to the petroleum industry as a drilling fluid...

Okay point one. Not even lead is 96.5 out of 100 on any hardness scale ever. So even if it was 100% lead that is wrong.frozen-north wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 8:26 pmRubber is rubber, and barium sulfate is not rubber, and silica is not rubber either.. Point two. It does not tell you what percentage of silica, or what percentage of borium sulphate, which if you read the entire paragraph, is used in paints and rubbers!
They don't use silicon in boob jobs for it's hardness... And I still can't find any explanation why you would put poisoned lead in to a non-lethal weapon. Possible tiny traces of lead, as it is found in a lot of resources still as the water table was so diluted with lead from when it was in everything from fuel to piping.Barium sulfate (the mineral baryte, BaSO4) .... as a filler in ringing ink, plastics, and rubbers; as a paper coating pigment; and in nanoparticles, to improve physical properties of some polymers, such as epoxies.
Third point. You clearly don't know what being a marine engineer entails. I did a entire section of my higher education in material properties and how different materials are manufactured. Because with out understanding that you don't know how you can fabricate components to do repairs with. You wouldn't even recognise half the names of the alloys I work with, let alone be able to tell me why they are used for certain components.
I can tell from this your strong points aren't materials, chemistry, engineering, weapons, or using Google.
Sorry to be so blunt, but your practically trolling, because you think one mega noticia article with poor information is gospel.
Just going to add on an example Brinell Hardness table...
Brinell hardness numbers
Material Hardness
Softwood (e.g., pine) 1.6 HBS 10/100
Hardwood 2.6–7.0 HBS 1.6 10/100
Lead 5.0 HB (pure lead; alloyed lead typically can range from 5.0 HB to values in excess of 22.0 HB)
Pure Aluminium 15 HB
Copper 35 HB
Hardened AW-6060 Aluminium 75 HB
Mild steel 120 HB
18–8 (304) stainless steel annealed 200 HB[4]
Hardox wear plate 400-700 HB
Hardened tool steel 600–900 HB (HBW 10/3000)
Glass 1550 HB
Rhenium diboride 4600 HB

You obviously are having some problems using Google and/or reading, because the article indicated clearly the hardness scale being used.Dosedmonkey wrote:With a hardness of 96.5 in a scale of 100, I don't think anybody would be saying 'It's just rubber'.

Remember-Nelly Díaz sindicato en el Registro Civil ...She had power to abuse Chile striking for weeks .Britkid wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 7:57 pmThe other thing that really worries me is all these people screaming "paco culiado" and whatever else and going nuts in the videos. How many unions exist in Chile?
Unions that expelled for workers good companies like Merck in San Antonio.
Port unions that have power to stop export of the fresh fruit for weeks.
Another words,it was scary to see how easy was to set large scale self destructive behavior in Chile.
