Clinton did the same thing. Seems like every preznit has to make his mark. Re the national parks - yes indeed. I count myself very lucky to have seen them when they were still wild. Grand Canyon when the entry roads were dirt and there was just a rickety post and rail fence at the edge. Canyon de Chelly. Monument Valley. Mesa Verde. You needed to seriously plan ahead cause there were no gas stations for 100 miles. And vapor lock. Ah the good ole sports car days.

here a super trump MAGA moment.

federal prisoners got super chrismas and news years dinner, while prison staff got none.

even worse, the prisoners got their federal pay checks, the guards got none.

well the Donald is set to address the nation tonight, over the crisis on the boarder he created.

think i will get some pop-corn and watch, that is if any of the TV station i have even show it.

of all the crisis the united states has right now that would be worthy of a public address by a president, the white frigen picket fence on the boarder is probably one of the most ridiculous reasons.

I don't know, how about something like the 700,000 overdose deaths in the u.s.; at that rate the u.s. is going to need migration just to keep up with the warm body count.

how about the pension crisis? national debt? education? infrastructure (sorry walls don't count)? or, Trump's own half-baked trade war?

keep going Donald, but any of the above would have kept the muller probe off the front page just as easily.

the irony is, i think the dems are bear baiting trump in to declairing a national emergency and using u.s. forces inside the u.s., that will make for a nice solid abuse of power case for impeachment. no need for a special council if they can get him to do it in full public view, and sign public documents.

Seems the TSA drones don't like assaulting passengers for no pay. Due to the federal shutdown, hundreds are calling in sick in "blue flue" style.

We can now distinguish the perv TSA'ers form the non-pervs as only the pervers would work for "free"

Trump will have a bunch of whitehouse lawyers involved to make sure he doesn't break any laws.

However, impeachment is fundamentally political, not legal. If you can get the votes, you can impeach. You don't have to cite any law or any fact.

By now Trump has gathered enough dirt on Senators, so that the senate will never impeach.

That was painful to watch.

The only good thing i can say, at least it was short.

It was like watching a third-grader giving a book report, he wrote himself.

I find the very existance of donald trump repulsive, but wholy shit how can he not have one, just one, halfway decent speech writer in his entire administration.

Years ago, when I taught persuasive writing and public speaking, I use to have my students pick a position on a subject they did not believe and write a paper and a speech to defend that opposing view. He needs to go hire the most far left, bat-shit crazy, anti-trumper he can afford, to write a speech for him. Because the echo chamber in his head is not getting the job done.

How about Ocasio-Cortez?

Something simple like, "My fellow americans, please give Donald Trump his 5 billion dollars, so we don't have to listen to him go on about his stupid frigen wall and we can all get on with our life. Thank you."

You see. that simple. Everyone gets what they really want.

seems Miami is shutting down at least one terminal part time this weekend over doubts about having sufficient TSA. Today was the day 800,000 fed employees missed their first paycheck.

Of course the U.S. congress left town mid-afternoon. I wonder if they got the "extra special" treatment at the airport on their way out of DC.

Nah, most would get off on having their genitals felt and touched by their own gender.

Well, there is another thing getting shutdown. U.S. government web sites are going down because they can not renew their TLS certificates.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/governmen ... -are-down/

In addition to most cyber security staff being sent home, I seen an article that something like 5,000 FBI agents and support staff are also sitting at home, the rest are working without pay.

I wonder how long Trump's secret service detail is going to hesitate to take a bullet for the wanker that did not sign their pay check. It will only take an agent 0.05 seconds extra to resolve this boarder wall issue permanently.

Of course the others not being paid at the airports are the people at the FAA, the air traffic controllers, etc. People that acutely do something important for a living.

Not sure I would want to be anywhere near that airspace right now, on the ground or above it.
