Well, the design and its looks comes and goes a la people fashions. But besides its looks, get inside one any year Rav4 and start the engine, engage drive to "D" and go, then feel the smoothness of its engine revving and its tranny shifting with fluid motion, almost mimicking the butter smooth gear changes of a 4Runner or admin's own FJ Cruiser. Rav4s a well put together compact utility vehicle as one of quality engineered vehicle within the Toyota line indeed. - 7 million.
but yea there is a lot of them out there now, probably to move it closer to 6 million.
chileans have been buying a lot of new cars in recent years, for a lot of reasons (smog control changes, low interest rates, more money), and that has dumped a pretty big supply of newer used vehicals on the market.

Re: Toyota rav4 2012 4x4, 64000 km, automatic
problem with the newer rav4 is they are getting a bit over domesticated. somewhere some one told me the new ones in chile are all 4x2. they are loosing the 4 in the rav4.
so, in some sense this one for sale might be worth more simply because it is still 4x4.
i have seriously considered buying a fj40 more than once. there are many around southern chile, in various states of repair.
the problem with fj40's are they are old school low geared jeeps. not very pleasent ride at any great speed, or on a paved road. they have more in common with a farm tractor than a rav4.
fj cruiser i was bombing down washboard pot hole filled roads in the patagonia at 120+ km, and still was able to hold a conversation with my wife and we were listening to music. it was still sufficently stable that my wife was able to take good quality hand held videos with her phone.
in the fj40, you would be lucky to keep your teeth in your head, because all the force gets absorbed in your skull. they are very undomesticated, and i dont think you will ever cage them no matter how much money you sink in to modifying the suspension.
i would also be hesitent to ever take an fj40 too far from home just because of the lack of parts.
fj cruiser i can pretty much source all the major and most minor parts off anything else in the toyota line up (4runner, hilux, lexus, land cruisers) of a similar years. i just replaced the oil filter housing with a metal lexus filter housing, and my front bilstien shocks said tacoma on the box. a friend with a 4runner is giving me her trailer hitch assembly.
that was a super good idea by the fj cruiser designers to just source most parts off their other assembly lines. pretty sure that was the idea of the guys that were off-road racing drivers they consulted for building it. as i modify my fj, i am being very careful about not loosing the interchangability of parts. even my after market skid plates had "prado" stickers on two of the plates, and only one was specificaly made for the fj. i dont want to get for instance caught in argentina or the deep patagonia waitng weeks for a special part to be shipped from somewhere else.
too bad the new toyota "sport" vehicals they are promising are all super mall crawling milenial plastic crap. they realy need a modernized fj40 to take on the jeep rubicon market, and keep the fj tradition going. they should merge something like a rav4, fj40, and fjcruiser to make a smaller sport utility vehical with real off-road capability that is affordiable.

Well,Well,Well.. A Toyota basher wanting to re-associate with the brand..! You better stick with the Chinese, er, German brands, go for the M-Benz G-Wagen instead, they are Diesels there in Chilitolandia and with your wealth I'm pretty sure you can afford one, He,he,heee.at46 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 11:04 amHear, hear! lol, if the three things I want out of a Toyota were to happen, they would have happened already a long time ago. But it's like asking a Japanese guy to be German instead. Not going to happen, no cierto? It just takes time to realize thatHybridAmbassador wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 4:46 pmWell,Well,Well.. A Toyota basher wanting to re-associate with the brand..! let's get ready to rumble!!!!!
mercedes G-class vs. toyota fjcrusier
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mIK8p0mOmMQ
now in fairness to the fjcruiser it costs abouut 10% of the price. there is no way that G-class could take on 10 FJs.
next up, the rambo lambo.
honestly, i highly doubt the G-class is going to do much more than my fj off-road, and definitly not for the money. i can buy whole new fj or two, probably for what a ho hum repair on a G-class costs.
