I have been hesitant to go with them, simply because the market in the south can be flaky. things come and go from the market for long periods. That said, the supply did increase after that as lots of little producers took up the slack. Still, I can just see after say a big earthquake or something, the pellets disappearing for weeks or months at a time.
I asked our landlords and they said that the reason of shortage was the governmental program of supplying pellet stoves to government's buildings and in the same time one of the pellet factories burnt down.
Now it's much better because there's a mass migration to pellet heating and new factories are popping out.

On the subject of heating: Does anyone have views/info about brands of calderas for heating with radiators? Also, does any one have info about installers, aka maestros, in the Valpo region? My web searches have been great - if you live in the us or europe, but not much help for
chile. Thanks.

You can ask mayordomos in edificios built by reputable companies, like Bezanilla or Nahmias, which company does mantenciones on their calderas. The logic being reputable construction companies will use reputable caldera crews for their buildings.

Wonder where people hear these rumors? IVA BTW is 19%.
There are two ways to be fooled.
One is to believe what isn't true;
the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

it is a sales tax. no one is exempt.
but, what chile makes up for in sales tax, it does not charge in property tax.

Huh?
I have just shelled out $200.000 in
