He was released in 2016 - MB was president, but yes she did not pardon him directly.

MB or Piñera , in the end they are all the same , and as Roosevelt once said

"Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country."

Or Joseph de Maistre when he said
"Every country has the government it deserves"

Which seems about right for Chile (and lots of other countries) , many people need to look in the mirror a bit more to see what they can change. Rather than being reactionaries driven by emotions, worrying only about their lives, how about get off Facebook and friggin do something useful? , or not, carry on bitching about politicians, whatever.

I'm guilty of blaming politicians, everyone is, that's life. But if that's all anyone does, then they are worse than politicians themselves, at least they put their hands up in the first place to have a go.

Bachelets daughter was arrested at a protest:

https://www.biobiochile.cl/noticias/nac ... uche.shtml

She and four others were protesting this morning in favor of the Mapuche in front of Registro Civil at Huerfanos (?), and she had a "permiso" for purchase of basic goods. So she and her group were arrested by Carabineros for breaching the lockdown/quarantine measures.

What actually got me was that she was protesting in front of Registro Civil Huerfanos, where foreigners go to get their first "cedulas". I wonder if she has a reason for that.

Its already having an effect, I wont say stock up in the south because if you haven't already, you've left it too late, especially with rumors circulating Puerto Varas could be next for lockdown.

Following the case of Machi Celestino Córdoba. How, technically they are going to "feed him forcibly"?

Quote:

The Government continues to take steps to unblock the hunger strikes, a situation that became more complex after the ruling announced by the Supreme Court on Thursday.

The government spokesman, Jaime Bellolio, assured that they will defend Machi Celestino Córdoba, and that for the same reason they presented resources to be able to feed him forcibly.

Technically, they force a feeding tube usually via a nostril. It's said to be pretty unpleasant. I believe the technique was refined by the Murkans in Guantanamo Bay - beginning with Bushboy and NOT closed by wonder boy O'Bomber, despite campaign promises, nor, clearly, by Trumpilator. Many years of practice.

Hopefully, there will be some attorney who protests.
