Re: Chilean Borders To close Wednesday, March 18th
Has anyone heard of the possibility of the boarders opening up again? Or am I just dreaming?
Re: Chilean Borders To close Wednesday, March 18th
there are no changes at this time.
I doubt there will even be any public discussion about opening the boarder until November, after the October election.
by then, the northern hemisphere will likely be fully on fire, and there will be extensive restrictions even if their is some relaxing the restrictions.

argentina seemed to not be too enthusiastic about the whole thing; but, that probably has more to do with prosur and the leftist in charge of the country.

I really hope that this happens pretty soon.. I think its a great idea that they put in safety protocols like PCR tests, or maybe im just bias because my wife makes the testsadmin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 2:31 pmwell, there seems to be have been a meeting about having a meeting among the Prosur group of countries about opening the boarders.

o.k., the cliff notes on the decree.
1. Tourist still can NOT enter the country.
2. Temporary and Permanent Residents, Citizens, and immediate family of residents and citizens can now enter the country.
3. A negative pcr test completed within 72 hours of travel is required or you must complete a 14 day quartine on arrival in Chile.
4. The 14 day quartine can be ended with a negative PCR test conducted in the country. so, you arrive, you quartine, taking a PCR test as soon as you arrive. say it takes two or three days to get the results back, then you are free to move around the country. hopefully, you get the results the next day. so one day of quartine.

Re: Chilean Borders To close Wednesday, March 18th
Now, as a practical matter, we have been directly told by the minister of health to expect up to a week for them to process the paper work to lift the quartine, if you take a PCR that comes back negative after arrival and are quartined say at your house in chile.
so best to take the pcr before you leave, so the quartine will be lifted on arrival at the airport.
yea, classic case of politicians in chile living in some strange parrell universe where all the beucracy is above average.
hopefully they get that streamlined before the pandemic is over.

Re: Chilean Borders To close Wednesday, March 18th
Pre pandemic my wife and I were making plans to return to Chile. My wife is Chilean and I am American. She has returned to rent a house for us and I am still in the US. Can I now enter Chile based on our marriage? My friends and family in Chile who have read this article don't interpret it that way.admin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 9:32 amo.k., the cliff notes on the decree.
