23k vehicles left Thursday, they only started controls about 5pm by the sounds if it. Only 262 made to turn back.

I am watching the lines to buy fucking fish for Easter. Thousands of of people in lines.
everything that the government has done so far correctly, just got wiped out by another spineless half ass attempt to implement a half-baked measure over this weekend.
Brace for impact. Thousands are going to die.

Re: Quarentines and fines
I read yesterday that although it could cause traffic holdups, they were going to check every vehicle on the roads out of Stgo. However, on the news today, they said only 7700 checks were carried out, which doesnt jibe with the number of vehicles that left?

The government is adding the seizure and auction of vehicles to the consequences for those breaking quarantine; in addition to the fines.

Re: Quarentines and fines
Anyone know how the mandatory 14 self-quarantine after entering Chile is playing out in reality? We need to fly from the States to Puerto Montt and then fly home the next day. Anyone know if this is even possible?
After 6 years of working on getting an important aspect of our farm legalized, we finally received word from the Chilean agency that everything was ready. All we have to do is go to a Notary in Puerto Montt and sign the papers. The problem is that they won't accept our attorney signing with a power of attorney. We have to sign in person. We were notified just after we flew back to the states. We have 60 days to sign and we hadn't planning to come back to Chile until Sept.
Its important enough to us that we would be willing to fly in, sign and leave. But according to the information on the US Embassy website there is a mandatory 14 day quarantine for all residents entering the country.
Obviously we are pursuing other solutions but I'm wondering if anyone has flown into Chile recently and knows how the entry is playing out.

There are no longer any quick trips to southern Chile, but there never really was.

There is also a regional quarantine for 14 days for anyone coming in to the region from a quarantined zoned (e.g. Santiago).
as this is all so knew, even though common sense says you only need to do one quarterine, I would not bet on that being executed on the ground as advertised. you very well could end-up in another quarantine entering los lagos.
