The ISP has received the application for the import of Oxford-astrazenica vaccine:

https://www.biobiochile.cl/noticias/nac ... ford.shtml

not sure why that has taken so long, considering phase 3 trials were conducted in Chile.
This is likely the one that, if provided a choice, would be the first option for myself.

a suspect / mechanism for why the high levels of alergic reactions among the mRNA vaccines of phizer and modern vaccines.

https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/12 ... -reactions

I seen a stat go by this morning that allergic reactions running about 1 in 100,000 people in the united states vs. alerguc reactions in most other vaccines run about 1 in a million people.

but, but, we also have not had sufficient numbers yet of vaccinations to really get solid statistics.

The other important points in that article,

we may not know how common the alergic reactions are, until lots of people get the second dose. theory is that the first shot may produce the antibodies in peolle that causes the reaction.

pfizer and moderna imtentionally excluded anyone with a history of alergies from their trials.

o.k., over 4,000 deaths today in the united states.

I would have to up my projections of 2021 deaths, if that became the new average. Like by around 500,000, to 1.5 million deaths.

There was a stat today, that more people died of covid in L.A. today, than muders all last year.

and, for whatever it is worth, the white house task force (of course without any evidence, because don't let the truth get in the way of a good story), says there might be a more infectious "american varrient" in circulation in the states.

That might just be Trump not wanting to be outdone by the U.K.; or, trying to get the media off his other "issues".

o.k., so 4 cases of the new U.K. mutation found in Chile, one was an itialian citizen.

https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/ ... anica.html

I am afraid that the government is setting the country up to repeat last year's start of outbreak with this new mutation, as people return from vacation outside the country.

No surprises there, did we really expect anything different from them?

Apparently quarantines can only last 4 weeks, which at least gives business owners a tiny bit of help to organise themselves.

There is very little info on vaccines in Chile. It seems they have given about 10,000 shots and the rest of the vaccine here is held for the booster. And that is as far as they have gotten.

Is there more/better info?

If that's it, its a pretty poor show.

They are keeping the arrival dates of vaccines in Chile under wraps just as they did with the ventilators. They need to do some stops on the way and are worried about............well, you know. As for when you and I will get ours, no idea.
