sp the Argentina media is finally starting to call bullshit on the government statistics.

https://www.clarin.com/sociedad/coronav ... G.amp.html

the big one it seems is that over 20,000 of deaths reported, no one seems to know if they died in an ICU or not.

83,000 cases in one day in the united states.

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/10/24/heal ... index.html

probably well on their way to 100,000 cases a day by election day.

And a half a million dead by late February. More than in WWII and Vietnam combined.

1918 pandemic, there was an estimated 600,000 deaths; but, over 4 years.

The u.s. will likly break 1 million deaths, by the time this is over.

even with a vaccine, let's say it gets fairly wide scale deployment by july 2021, it will be a year or two before there are days with no deaths from covid.

keep in mind, the stats out of the states are so screwed up, it will be another decade before the real numbers are fully accounted for.

If Trump gets re-elected, that might be an optimistic estimate.

not even sure where to post this.

seems prices of medications in Argentina are exploding, and probably explains in part the explosion of cases, deaths, and the strange way the national bed count has held steady at around 63%. prices up as much as 1100% higher.

https://www.infobae.com/economia/2020/1 ... e=amp-type

we also had the issue of come up as to how many people were dying in UCI vs. outside.

23% increase in cases this week over last week in the states. europe is on fire too. u.s. is probably going to pass 100,00 a day by election time on nov 3rd.

I think the attempt to open up international travel for tourism is a historical big mistake, and I suspect it is not going to last.

If you would like to return to chile, now is the time. The window will likly be very small, and be prepared to stay here a while.

Chile had 6 deaths in the last 24 hours. lowest deaths in 127 days. June 23rd was the last time the deaths were that low with 3 deaths in one day.

4.6% positivity rate, with only 21,800 test conducted. 1002 new cases. 8,507 active cases.

will it last? probably not, but generally numbers are trending the right way.

From experience here in BC Canada, summer was easier than the spring, now the 40- crowd are testing positive which is just their attitude (I believe they don’t get the issues) and our numbers spiked after thanksgiving, but hospitalizations are way down. BC is back to the safe 6 rule your household and 6 others in your bubble. Restaurants and retail are all open with rules, it will be interesting to see what winter brings here and summer brings for Chile.
It's all about the wine.
