55,000+ cases today in the United States

41,000+ in Brazil + 1 bolsonaro

yea, that is going well. I am sure it is just "little flue" that will "just go away".
The USA has 8-10 times more tests done than Brazil, though. The real numbers in Brazil will most likely never be known due to that.
Yea, I read all the stats, as X10 or X 20, depending on how much faith I have in the numbers.

Frutillar for instance, we have about 30 to 40 active confirmed cases, I just don't even talk to any friends and family about the 40 cases. I talk to them about 400+ cases in the wild, which stops everyone cold in the middle of the conversation. Which leads to me having to explain it to everyone, by which time they are all ghost white. I just refuse to let anyone wonder around with the "there is ONLY 40 cases" attitude because even if there is not 400 cases (and almost certainly there is), guaranteed people will be sloppy and dismissive about it.

Act like this thing is hanta virus, crossed with ebola, meningitis, TB, and is as durable as the seasonal flue. Over estimate, because this not one of the things in life to underestimate. under estimate the amount of gas in your car. underestimate how long it takes to get to work. underestimate how much lunch costs. no big deal.

Underestimating this virus, only helps a bunch of idiot politicians and gets a lot of people killed and maimed for life.

Government Report:

3,113 new cases, 306,216 total confirmed cases

24, 612 active cases

109 new deaths, 6,682 total deaths (as reported to the civil register in the last 24 hour)

384 ventilators available

1,900 hospitalized

16,842 tests conducted, 1,237,632 total tests completed

positive exams are down 19% in the last week.

30% drop in the last 40 days

in aysen and los rios there will be limited opening. things like restaurants, cafes, will be allowed to open at 25% capacity. no clarity how they will enforce that.

I believe this is testing the opening protocols for the country in areas with a relatively low population and case counts.

The local government actually came through with it's promise of a token caja for EVERY residence in San Antonio. Took three weeks but I'm sure our condo was at the bottom of the delivery list. According to my wife, this was a poorer box compared to what the family in Independencia received.

The one I don't get is down in the Patagonia they are flying mutimillion dollar helicopters, costing 10's thousands of dollars and hour to operate, to deliver that same box, to a half dozen families, that ARE NOT EVEN IN QUARTINE NOR SUFFERING FROM A LACK OF FOOD.

They could have literally thrown helicopter money at them, and it would have been cheaper.

Dafood (www.daff.cl) 1 kg leche con 26% (whole milk) en polvo. According to wife, it is the same brand used for the meals at schools program and not sold in stores. Probably strategically getting rid of stock that hasn't moved much since the schools closed.

Huh, if it's only 25% whole milk, wonder what the rest of it is? Probably cellulose or other thickeners like gums, and flowing agents. Or maybe it is green coloring, assuming that is not a green colored plastic bag
