I see the regional government in los lagos is calling on everyone to get vaccinated, as we are 77% fully vaccinated. at 80% we become eligible to reduce the nightly curfew plus things like increasing the capacity of restaurants, etc.

This part of the article made me wonder why this was not already been done to study the efficacy of the first and second dose. I don't remember having seen any mention of it. I don't remember seeing anything about in the studies done by Minsal.
Una vez completada esta etapa comenzará el proceso de seguimiento de las muestras de sangre a los 15, 30, 60 y 90 días posteriores a recibir la dosis de refuerzo. Allí se determinará la evolución de los anticuerpos neutralizantes.
And I also wonder why for the first and second dose there was no need for informed consent, but it is for the third.

That's a 23% reduction in active cases within a week. This Is great.

I figure 70% of adults vaccinated is the magic number, and that does not include the kids.

woops, should qualify that.

we are at 60% of adults fully vaccinated.

we are now vaccinating 15 year olds.

so, technically I would say the magic number, where cases go down is 60%.

in other news, Argentina passed a 100,000 official deaths today.

https://www.lanacion.com.ar/sociedad/10 ... utType=amp

I am pretty certain that their deaths are way higher.

they have done about half the tests of chile, and even now are only doing around the same that chile is doing, but with 2.3 times the population.

2.336 new cases, 158 deaths (including those that died on weekends, which are always reported on Thursdays). 13,569 active cases.

3.3% PCR positivity rate. 4% in Santiago metro, but it goes as low as 0.9% for Magallanes. The whole Santiago metro will move to Paso 3 - Preparacion on Monday.

No announcements about the border today, the government mentioned they're still working on preparing for the border opening.

interesting article explaining why fully vaccinated older people are dying more, and why that is to be expected.
