In flight radar app there is a latam flight taking off with no destination set, also unusual.

Chile is running multiple evacuations out of PM for the cruise ship passengers, and bringing Chileans stuck outside the country back. among others, there is a massive diplomatic core that must be repatriated, tourist, buisness groups, etc.

It will be interesting on Friday to see what happens with the weekly riots in Plaza Italia, which I guess are no longer permitted

So, here are some interesting charts, comparing various countries rate of spread, relative to when they implemented lock downs, and exponential explosion of cases.

https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/ ... 863553001/

Chile seems to be doing the right thing. The lock down started right around 100 - 200 cases, the point at which experts seem to pick for community spread. Italy by contrast did not do it until 18 days after, and then half way. China was like 25 days (although there was longer denial of what it was than that, they had way more than 100). Korea and Singapore did it almost immediately. Iran is still not locked down, as near as we can tell.

I have been pointing to the magic 1000 number, because that seems to be about the point where it get's out of control or starts stretching capacity of the health care system; but, 100 seems like a good point to start implementing serious measures, as it takes time. By the time you get to 1000 cases, it is too late.

United Banana Republics of America, are just screwed. That ship has sailed, right in to the San Francisco bay.

Oh my frigging god, they were doing so well too, then they have to go and fuck it up.
Why would they start cleaning up plaza italia moments after a state if catastrophe comes in ?
Just going to make all the masses suspicious.
Those in charge are honestly thick as pig shit.
Why bother cleaning that shit today, unless they are disinfecting which might be the case, but removing paint and shit is not needed at this time.
