In the last 48 to 72 hours, they have shot and killed a carbinero, off duty, at his house.

they shot a PDI, off duty in his house 4 times in the leg.

last night a mob attacked a carbinareios, off duty, with his family in their car with small children in the car.

they are activly hunting for police.

the fucking media is treating it all like a great big coincidence.

well, members of the chilean communist party, at a conference in Venezuela, announced they were going to hold a match on the 1st of the year, months ago. lets see if they manage to pull it off.

I would stay away from any of the traditional new year celebrations that are near anywhere there has been protests since 18-0. (e.g. valpo, plaza itialia, etc). too big and obvious of a target.

Yes, I was going to go to Concepcion. Thought better of it because of the risk of manifestaciones. Concepcion had a lot of vandalism and rioting. That visit will have to wait, probably February.

yea, we are sticking close to home. going to do a party with the family, build a fire in the yard. I even went so far as to recruit some friends' 19 year old and 20 year old to keep them off the street. I figure better they pass out my house, than in the middle of whatever might be happening tonight somewhere else.

Just was told that frutillar municipality setup a party in a lot, across the street from the carbinareios station, for everyone to come out and party. I am not goong, but some friends are goong. lets see how that works.

Except for major cities and tourist zones it is tranquil as usual in small towns and rural areas. Criminals, vandals, instigators and arsonists need anonymity to function.
