Number one son came to accompany me through a major operation in mid-March (which has not yet happened) and has stayed on, working remotely from here. As a green card holder he can be out of the US no longer than 6 months. So he will probably go back in July. The long flight is a worry for both of us but he will have to risk it. He can't wait for a vaccine. Once they (hopefully) have one, it still has to be manufactured and distributed. I suspect the northern hemisphere will get it long before we do.

In the main virus topic earlier today I posted a question regarding individual permits issued by comisariavirtual.cl (Valpo is going quarantine tonight). Specifically, as there is a maximum number of individual permits* (total 5, during every 7-days period, incl. every type of permit), then I do not see how people living solo can officially walk their dogs daily. I have at least several in my apartment building with dogs. I have read also some conversations on social media networks where people have to violate the rules to walk dogs timely. The post was removed. Is this not a politically correct question? If so, I am very sorry about that.

Lack of forethought? Lack of input from other people on the decision? No people living in apartments, or women were involved on some decisions? .....

Just this morning I read another example of it:
Exigen incluir elementos de higiene menstrual en canastas de alimentos para la región

sorry about that. should have explained better what was going on.

I am just trying to keep the emergency covid thread "centered", as recent crisis related threads have gone downhill fast with loosely related things, that have turned in to me needing to delete and ban people. so I am applying a "nip it in the bud early" policy; yet, I can not advertise it, or the trolls will just exploit the clarity of the rules.

start a new thread on the quarterine "rules and procedures" if you like.

Ok, but if I stop protesting online, then who else would?..

Why are cannabis and liquor stores considered essential services during the COVID-19 outbreak?

Rune, same here in San Antonio. Yeah Lider, Tottus, Santa Isabel, Mayorista 10 and the two branches of a local supermarket chain can sell booze while all the PYME outlets are screwed.
There are two ways to be fooled.

One is to believe what isn't true;

the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

So can they not just start selling food items also or something else that's considered essential? Or is there too much bureaucracy involved? I've seen small companies reinvent themselves elsewhere.
