yea, I don't think that is an accident.

that "agreement" between the parties, had an extremely rushed date, and not because they were in a hurry to fix the constitution, etc.

They were in a hurry to disenfranchise as many people as possible.

guess who most likly missed that date?

young, first time, extreme left leaning voters. essentially.

now many people did change. think it was million and half, but...

So the municipal Christmas tree in Puerto montt (that barely resembles a Christmas tree) had paint thrown at it and they are taking it down today, after being up for a grand total of 7 days at a cost of 40 million pesos.
Being taken down because it didnt have the right permission to be up or something.
The funniest thing still is a lot of people seriously think the government and politicians will do a better job than the private sector in Chile. When mostly they are just amateurs and sad expensive jokes , out for themselves, but guess what? people voted them in still and often more than once.

Yeah something (well lots of things) in Chile need to change, a country of low wages and high prices and an uneven tax burden is not exactly a recipe for success, and that's not mentioning all the other issues. Unfortunately I cant see anything drastically changing anytime soon, all the experts in Chile have good solutions (I've heard a lot over the last two months). The question is will anyone do anything or will the country just get distracted and bogged down for the next few years .

It's similar to the USA. Everything is polarized emotion and tribalism. No one is interested in solving a problem unless the solution comes from their dogmatic understanding of the world. No one is willing to set aside that baggage and consider any other solutions, real solutions that would require part of each platform being put together imo (and in the USA removing the power of PAC/SPAC/money in general from election cycles, etc).

Results change by the week. A country can't be run based on Polls. Or by orchestrated mobs.
Ochlocracy (Greek: ὀχλοκρατία, romanized: okhlokratía; Latin: ochlocratia) or mob rule is the rule of government by mob or a mass of people, or, the intimidation of legitimate authorities. As a pejorative for majoritarianism, it is akin to the Latin phrase mobile vulgus, meaning "the fickle crowd", from which the English term "mob" originally was derived in the 1680s.

It doesn't use any bw unless you actually click on a source to play it. That Plaza Italia camera in HD mode peaks to 12 Mb/s, even playing in a window. But lower resolutions can be selected.

Was able to see the smoke in real time from the Alameda Art Centre as the manifestantes burnt it down.
