It looks like there's a very wide spread, and/or very thin trading. And someone just sold some USD knocking the rate down to 792

Oh <spamword> me, yeah that should've been 792:) That doesn't happen to me very often, and probably means I need some b12.

Wow what a swing, 790 this morning. Too crazy. Is the general opinion that we can expect 750+ for months to come?

My guess is that it appears the Central Bank de Chile sold some usd to bring the rate down below 800. Their previous goal was 750 which didn't last long so I suspect we'll see it bounce around 790-810 depending on much longer the protests go on or how much worse the violence and looting gets or if it calms.
Also the world wide demand for copper is down and so is the price which i imagine is contributing as well as the the problems in the salmon industry. Tourist industry is taking a hit too. All three of those industries bring foreign currency into Chile.
Quien sabe?, vamos a ver.

My iPhone says 810 to the USD. I think it’s from Yahoo News.

What's worse?

A)The vandals and criminals physical destruction of infrastructure and businesses and more importantantly psychological destruction of the country.

B)The government ineptness, incompetence, aloftness, disconnectedness, (or whatever disparaging adjective you want to use), at handling this whole situation in the last 40 days.
