Chile is at the top for number of fully vaccinated in the world,

Last time I checked, both Iceland and the UAE were ahead of Chile.
could not fit everyone on there. iceland and UAE are relatively small populations, even compared to Chile, with lots of resources to get everyone stuck with a needle.

Iceland is small, but the UAE has 9 million people. I think their population is large enough to be comparable to Chile.

More controversy on mixing vaccines. Several cruise lines are prohibiting passengers with mixed vaccines and treating them as totally unvaccinated...regardless what their home country told them "was totally cool and everything"

Meanwhile Germany and perhaps Canada are saying it's even more better (bad grammar intended)to mix vaccines

https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/6302/

They are probably still haunted by the diamond princess tale of woe and dont want to star in "disaster princess reloaded"

10% reduction in one day. If we keep up with this pace, we may end up getting to 50% less cases in a week. Awesome!

was looking through today's epidemiological report. available here,
https://www.minsal.cl/139o-informe-epid ... slamiento/

looks like almost all the new cases are concentrated in the metro region. the communities like puento alto have the majority of cases, and lowest vaccine rates; although they have improved in recent weeks.

this was a pretty good interview with a doctor dealing with people that did not get vaccinated, and find themselves in the ICU.

https://www.al.com/news/2021/07/im-sorr ... utType=amp

They beg for the vaccine before being incubated, but she has to tell them it is too late.

so Indian government is denying the recent report of up to 5 million covid deaths. suprise, suprise.

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/07/22/indi ... index.html

new study found at least 2/3rds of indians have covid antibodies,
most being naturally acquired.

If you do a fairly conservative 1% death rate amongst them, considering things like medical system collapse, lack of oxgen, no medical system in rural areas, just politicians in denial there is a problem, etc.

that is about 9,400,000 deaths from covid, among those exposed. so, the excess death estimates from that study might be a low number.

That is not even accounting for secondary deaths, denial of medical services, etc.

The more terrifying thing, there is still around 450,000 people in india with no antibodies, and even among those with antibodies, that is no guarantee they can not be infected again.

Here is an explanation of why my back of the napkin number above, may be many magnitudes under count:

https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/06/30/in ... rdhan-bjp/

case fatality rates, in the united states and the U.K., are way more than 1%. even the official indian number is more than 1%.
