felicite dropped in on us the other night...
actually, she dropped onto j~'s lap...!
but eventually felt safer on g~'s keyboard?
so looks like we have a new house-pet to add to our menagerie...
btw - she get along famously with morris (our mouse)

ok, we gave reference to our "menagerie"
long-time followers of this thread will know what we mean!
whatever - here is the most important recent member... "jefe"...

actually (see above), j~ rescued felicite from jefe's jaws...
the day before felicite landed on j~'s lap to thank her!
jefe's predatory instincts notwithstanding, she is the best cat we have ever borrowed!

ok - "borrowed" - better explain that?
g~j are citoyens de monde - wandering vagrants...
our lifestyle precludes long-term pet ownership.
but wherever we tend to languish, for any length of time...
we tend to pick up pets from the walls/yard/garden...!
and/or we "borrow" pets from our (if/any) neighbors...
we do not "own" jefe - but she has adopted us - so, she is, de facto, our pet!
(w/o getting into details, it's a mutually synergistic relationship)

Thats a really good photo. I can appreciate how hard it is to take a really clear picture of a black dog.

Here is my (well, my wife's) two poodle crosses enjoying the snow for the first time in their lives (not much snow where we come from). This was taken close to Farellones a few months ago.

Gahhh... everyone has such cute pets!!! My fiance and I are planning on moving out of the country in the next two years and we don't want to deal with the hassle of moving a pet... perhaps we should adopt a really old dog or cat... but that just sounds so morbid...

any opportunity for engaging your local fauna...
be they wild, or domestic critters...
is always a sublime pleasure...
especially when captured thru a lens...
later reflected upon, then possibly shared?

btw - the fish in our pond really are our "pets"...
we feed~nurture them every day...
we observe their rhythms, we consider their patterns of behavior...
but hey, we also teach them tricks...
LOOK, they can fly :!:

two months now since any pets have been posted...
WHY...
do no allchileans have pets - will they not pose them for posterity?
jeez...
do g~j always have to take up the slack...?
ok, ok...
here is the latest addition to our eclectic, ephemeral menagerie...

dee and dum --- <as in tweedle___ and tweedle___>
dee + dum_ac.jpg
dee + dum_ac.jpg (174.43 KiB) Viewed 2268 times
dee is the one on the left - the "leader" of the duo
dum is usually the follower...
we have no idea if we have goose-goose, goose-gander, gander-gander...
but we do know this --- yes, we have no eggs
:|

addendum...
truth be told, we have also owned goats in the past...
well, we thought goats were the dumb - so now we know geese...
to some small credit, they do tend to alert us <inconsistently> to trespassers - albeit half-heartedly

but we have known some excellent guard-geese in the past...
very fine feathered security, especially when presented in a goodly gaggle...
but dee and dum are not in those lofty leagues of security...
they are content only to complain of their lot in life and eat more rice...
:|

btw - they are quite fortunate we do not posses an oven at present...
else wise dee <the fatter> might have been presented on a holiday platter, after being roasted on a spit...
but perhaps by easter, both our "pets" may be presented in fine party mode as guest of honor at a pit bbq...?
<do any find that perverse? - well, you've probably never tasted a well skewered goose>

I realized that I don't think I've posted mine here, so I will start with this one, our 3 girl cats, Puntuda, Vuvuzela and Miau Miau.
