Nematodes a natural pesticide, need a dealer in Chile

Nematodes are microscopic, non-segmented worms that live in the soil and feed on over 150 soil borne pests including flies, fleas, and ants. Once their food source is gone, they die. A non-chemical, non-toxic way of clearing up flea or ant infestations in the yard, sand or grass. They are easy to buy in North America but because they need to be refrigerated, are not easy to ship to Chile. Does anyone know a source for nematodes in Chile?

I have dogs, cats and chickens so I do not want to poison the soil with pesticides, I just want to get rid of the fleas who live in the sand around the house. The dogs lay in the sand to get their sunshine and the chickens forage there but they are not good enough foragers to eliminate the flea population.

just a quick google, but this company seems to know something about it:

I did not read that very much, so might not be of help. But perhaps they can at least point you in the right direction.

Not quite.
Nematode species ...over 25,000 have been described, of which more than half are parasitic,

The many parasitic forms include pathogens in most plants and animals (including humans).

The mouth has either three or six lips, which often bear a series of teeth on their inner edges.

The smallest nematodes are microscopic, ... and some parasitic species are larger still, reaching over a meter in length.

I successfully used a non-toxic essential oil flea repellant on my dog in Canada, now I have to tackle the fleas in the sand around the house in Chile, in a non-toxic manner. Here is the link but they do not ship to Chile. http://www.gardensalive.com/product/gru ... Apti8P8HAQ

I called, they have to be used in a few days or they will die. Here is another company that does not ship to Chile. http://www.arbico-organics.com/category ... AjcY8P8HAQ

I think it would take longer than a few days to ship, and be cleared by SAG. And that's assuming SAG would even approve them. My guess is you need to find something already in Chile.

What we like to use for our dogs and sheep's is raw or dry powdered garlic mixed with some "chancaca".Works wonders and our critters are happy. Gets rid off fleas and worms.

Looks like these guys may have a streamlined way to bring them in:

http://www.meloncargo.com/nematodo_qOne ... OresultxSM

Ask if they can special order and bring in the flea one.

Interesting, Gloria. You don't use any other flea med or pesticide, only that? and what is chancaca?
