Re: cranberry juice
For some reason farmacia in English was deemed a Spam Word!
Re: cranberry juice
In Jumbo in Talca (la Florida location), you can find Ocean Spray Cranberry juice, no need to know the name in Spanish
In Lider in Talca (in the mall of Talca next to the Casino), it is Great Value Cranberry juice (some what cheaper than the Ocean Spray brand at Jumbo)

Re: cranberry juice
Here in the Temuco area I have seen in Lider, the Lider branded Cranberry Juice which doesn't include sugar. I have also seen the Ocean Spary cranberry juice coctail which does include sugar. I have seen in a little grocery/vegtable store called El Huerto, Cranberry concentrate. The brand is BerryVita. Also dried cranberries. Over the years El Huerto has carried more and more health food type products. Pretty nice selection of items.
Here is the link for the BerryVita. http://www.berryvita.cl/
You should check out the places that distribute their products if you are interested.

My guess is that they get their cranberries from CranChile.

Re: cranberry juice
I was in Jumbo today at the Mall Plaza Sur (heading out of Santiago on Ruta 5) found cranberry juice - Jugo de Cranberry. 1.89L for 3399 pesos. They also had one mixing cranberry and orange juice.
I also found 2 different packets of cranberries. One just saying "Cranberries" and the other saying "Arandanos Rojos (Cranberries)". All the packets were in Spanish not English, but they still use the word cranberry.
Slightly confusingly, I also bought one called Frutos Rojos that underneath says
Arandanos * Goji * Cranberries * Cherry.
So that seems to list Arandanos and Cranberries as two different types of red fruits. Well that doesn't seem to make sense since they are the same fruit!
Also, "cherry" I thought that was cereza, but maybe I learnt that in Spain, and I don't know if that is used here, again perhaps it isn't common enough in Chile to have one well recognized name? You don't see cherries a lot here. At one stage I made a long list of the different names for fruits between Spain and Chile, not sure if I still have it, quite a lot of them were different.

Re: cranberry juice
Arandano is blueberry and cranberry is cranberry. "Frutos rojos" does not translate directly as "red fruits" but more generally as berries. Blueberries and blackberries are very commonly included in the grouping of "frutos rojos," like if you get a kuchen in the south that is frutos rojos, it will be a mixed berry kuchen, which might include blueberries or blackberries.
Cherry is cereza. They are abundant and cheap in the south in summertime. Many in the south have their own cherry trees and eat from them. Not sure I have heard a chileno use the word cherry.
Frutilla/fresa for strawberries and aguacate/palta for avocado are two other noticeable differences for names of produce that were hard to adapt to in chile.

During a certain block of weeks during the first half of the warmer season, cherries also show up in abundance (tarty to dulce and cheap) in the ferias here on the south V Region coast.

I found the name of the Peruvian juice. It is L'Onda. Apple or cranberry. Unsweetened.

Re: cranberry juice
Well I opened and ate the packet or red fruits. they were all red in this particular case.
I actually stopped by the side of the road a week or two ago and found some blackberries growing and ate a ton of them under the shade of a tree watching the stream go past. I could have almost imagined myself in Patagonia for a minute except that the stream was dirty and there was rubbish around.
I also found some blackberries and raspberries being sold in the street last month. those are not particulaly common where I live either.

They have that brand at Jumbo here in Temuco and I get it from time to time. While their Apple Juice is unsweetened, their Cranberry Juice is not.Donnybrook wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 10:43 pmI found the name of the Peruvian juice. It is L'Onda. Apple or cranberry. Unsweetened.

Re: cranberry juice
I saw more cranberry juice today at the Portal Mall in Temuco. It was a 16 oz bottle of unsweetened cranberry concentrate.
The brand is called Dynamic Health. I forget the name of the store, but it was on the third floor near the money exchange. They sell a lot of whey products, etc.
