The bonds they just renegotiated and reissued 2 days ago, are falling.

The tax on buying dollars is now 65%, a "solidarity tax". That is latin american socialist speak for "we are going to rip you off".

I just asked my Argentine coworker and he says you need to add the tax on top of the tax. He says it's effectively 75.5%

Ohhhh, hope you never invested in Argentina, because they are now looking to target not only expat Argentinian s but none-resdent investor wealth.

On the bright side, anyone with two neurons to rub together would've had a "hell no" stance on investing in Argentina. They "play games" every ten years or so, and those that were burned before usually aren't too eager to jump in the fire.

"The legislation comes as the new, pro-business government in neighbouring Uruguay has made it easier for foreigners to obtain tax residency. "

Yeah, the Argentinean government has totally thought it over.

Where are all the idiots touting what a "great deal" investing in Argentina is now?

On various financial investment websites, I see just a tsunami of spam pushing Argentina real estate. Hell, I am getting spam email pushing crap for $300,000 dollars for postage stamp dump apartments in BA.

I keep waiting for the right deal on a ski resort; the whole resort.

I am waiting for them to take a $3,000,000 DOLLAR ski resort, and force them to express it in pesos over night as 3 million pesos (about $21,000 u.s. dollars currently).

For 3 million Argentinian pesos, plus paying employees a negative wage, I might actually bite. Figure if the government nationalizes a year later, no big deal. I got some good ski time in. 🎿

So Fernandez has the balls to ask companies to "trust him" and the magical economic recovery, as the exudus of foriegn companies from Argentina excellerates.

Prompting this speculation about if Argentina is turning in to venezuela. Too late.

Well, this has got to be some sort of new world record.

https://www.batimes.com.ar/news/economy ... tory.phtml

Argentina dollar bonds are back in distressed territory in less than a week after issue.

The country has less than $7 billion dollars in reserves.

But, hey, no worries. Just throw some more currency controls on because that worked so well over the last 20 years.

Interesting article on what the Argentina peso money supply should look like,

https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/09/ ... -peso/amp/

The conclusion is dollarize.

In that article, there is a link to a plan to dollarize Argentina that was requested by the president of Argentina back in 1998. It is worth a read:

Hey, if you can not handle your domestic issues, how about picking a fight with the neighbors.

Argentina's new map:

https://www.biobiochile.cl/noticias/int ... leno.shtml

Not only are they claming the fulkland islands, but a bunch of chilean territory. Fernandez went on about it in an address to the UN last week.

A cherry on top of all that: an Argentinian deputy started having sex (or was it just some heavy petting?) live on camera during the Congress' session in Zoom. 🙄

Who needs p0rn when you can watch the clusterfuck of Argentinian politics?
