so through all of this, both before and after taking on the position of Human rights commision, we still have little to nothing out of bachelete condeming the human rights abuses in venezuela.

https://www.emol.com/noticias/Internaci ... zuela.html

other than some vague political "concern" and "we are looking in to it", etc.

amazing

i like what one commentor called it, "complicit silence" in the human rights abuses of maduro's regime.

o.k., after that little show and don't tell at the press conference of the that note "5,000 troops to colombia", i was curious what the colombians are saying about it. is it just a publicity stunt?

seems, the colombian goverment is dodging it.

I read somewhere yesterday, I think it was in Emol that the US opposed her , (they were parroting out of some English publications) for the role as head of UN human rights head, they listed a number of reasons why they felt she wouldn't be suitable for the role, they can't have been that serious though as look where she is .

Didn't scroll down and saw you already posted that, MB was a disaster for Chile and is no better qualified for any international roles

Real Sanctions -- the Nuclear Option

Apparently the purchase of Vz oil by US companies, and the sale of diluent to Vz are now blocked, effective 28 Jan:

https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sm594

Also, "freezing of all PDVSA properties and interests in the U.S. jurisdiction (except Citgo) and restricting the trade of PDVSA bonds" per Caracas Chron. I must believe that enchufados hold many of those "properties, interests, and bonds."

Don't think PdV/Maduro can work around this much. Next up, international confiscation of enchufados' personal bank accounts and assets?
