When my friends ask me what the cops are like in Chile, I tell them mas o menos the same as the U.S.

Silly Gloria, carabineros don't chase suspects. They return to their "reten" and fill out descriptive paperwork.
They don't ' cause their nails could brake, get a run in their pantyhose or have the wrong color lipstick. :D And I meant male and female.

Corrupt as in the US? Kind of.....Cowboys on steroids as in the US? Not even close. I find them to be more on the sissy side. Mouthy as in the US? Not at all, very polite.

I was definitely being facetious. I think healthcare and the carabineros are a couple things Chile has gotten right.

That video was one of the most disturbing things I've seen in a while. And, to read that a jury let the cop off scott free is just puzzling beyond belief.

' footage ...(was) released after the verdict'
Bodycam footage of the incident, released after the verdict, showed Mr Shaver on his knees asking officers not to shoot him just before he was killed.

I seem to remember that happening in other cases. Or somehow the cameras had not been turned on, or it was deleted 'accidentally'.
