well, mabie it is the coup in washington.
Considering our experience with Latin American history, we should know that doesn't deserve to be called a coup......if it were, it failed spectacularly.
I trying and being good/succeeding at it are different things, though.

Yeh, complete amateurs......
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coup_d'%C3%A9tat
A coup or coup d'état (/ˌkuː deɪˈtɑː/ About this soundlisten (help·info); French: [ku deta], literally "blow of state"; plural: coups d'état, pronounced like the singular form; also known simply as an overthrow, takeover, or putsch) is the removal of an existing government from power, usually through violent means. Typically, it is an illegal, unconstitutional seizure of power by a political faction, the military, or a dictator.[1] Many scholars consider a coup d'état successful when the usurpers seize and hold power for at least seven days.[1] A coup attempt may refer to a coup in the works or an unsuccessful coup.

I find the 7 days a bit arbitrary. There have been many that were clearly successful, for much shorter periods of time, and often holding power long-term was not even the goal.

690s is actually lower (stronger peso) than it was when the "estallido social" started.
looks like you are right, just looking on xe.com now, looks like it was about 710-720 when the social crisis started (exact number depending on exactly which day and time you mark as the start)

A minute ago, the dollar was back up to 742. Quite a move in the last few days. Perhaps dollars are needed in order to purchase the vaccines.

Central bank has started a 12 billion dollar purchase to replenish their foreign currency reserves .

the vaccines are only 200 million dollars so far.

They are just stopping the peso from apreciating too fast. It is a facility the central bank has had since 2019 to stabilize the peso.

CD to Peso, was as low as 550 now back at 583, it’s the Peso not the dollar....now if the USD would drop, some have said 10-12% drop this year is not out of line.....
