Maybe the people know subconsciously what's in store for those funds. After everything that's happened, not that far out to envision the far left and commies coming into power and nationalizing those funds to pay for their utopia.

I'll take that bet, the chances of that happening are more likely than not, gotta fund all the "solidarity" pet projects of the far left somehow. I can see how they would sell the idea to the pueblo already .

As much as I am typically ready to critise chile for it's "short-terism", looking at that mess north of the equator makes Chile look fairly far sighted. Hell, looking anywhere over the boarder at the rolling global crisis, isaking chile look good.

so cash out some more AFP money and have an assado. someone will have to figure out the consequences some other day. Chances are, we are a probably goimg to be long dead by then.

Yeah I heard that before the AFP system existed there was another system . I am not sure how it worked, but it was better to be in that financially speaking . The guy that drives the excavator that does some work for me is in the old system, and gets 300k a month, still not a lot, but he works as well still, he reckons people he knows that switched to the new AFP system, (again not sure exactly why or how that worked, but he managed to stay in the old system ) they get 200k from the AFP.
Chilean military that implemented the new AFP system excluded themselves from it

The pensions of the military are substantially higher than those of the rest of Chileans, being most often similar to the income they have during active service

CAPREDENA and DIPRECA are the armed forces pensions systems. Widely abused in the past.
For example, pensions are based on final salary, so senior officials are often promoted just prior to retirement. They may be transferred during their final months of service to a remote area in order to claim "hardship" bonus which boosts their salary and hence their pensions.

This example, widely known as the Caso Jubilazo made the national news:
.

.
Not for nothing are the Socialists sometimes called "SociaLISTOS". But they're no worse than the rest, apart from their Orwellian "Equality" narrative.

Whatever crazy pensions scheme they come up with for the plebs after they finish demolishing the AFP system, they will no doubt be careful to leave these other ones intact - unless they want real trouble.

Pamela Jiles positioning herself for president candidate next year, which would be 'game over', most likely for the country, economicly speaking, if she were to become president next year. A country gets the leaders they deserve, isn't that the saying?

And it will serve Chileans right for wilfully believing that the “free lunch” really exists. Jadue is even worse than Jiles though.
