Does anyone know the best way to ship a vehicle/motorcycle from central Chile(Rancagua) to Punta Arenas? If so how long would it take and how much would it cost?

Thanks

drive it.

otherwise,

via fairy from puerto montt.

guess you could try and track down a truck making the run with space, otherwise you would be paying for a whole truck to move a motorcycle. Not cheap.

Not sure how the fairy thing works..

however..

The freight route would be by Navimag ferry from Montt to Natales and thence by road.

The detail? Dunno...

The ferry is for transporting goods south, in the winter the only thing on the ferry are trucks and their drivers, during the summer tourists and some tourist vehicles use the service. There are many trucking firms that will carry you bike as general cargo, you just need to inquire........it ain’t rocket science, it’s a service that keeps the movement of goods in Chile, some truckers run down through Arggie Land, I have never used them......

last summer my wife and I got down to near punta arenas in my Toyota jeep. Our trip was getting a little long in the tooth. It took us two weeks to get that far south, and we were debating options to simple ship the jeep back to puerto Mont on the fairy, and fly back. They quoted us $5,000 u.s. to ship it.

now, we did not do much poking around for better prices or anything, because we were leaning more towards doing the drive back. now I am glad we did. It was incredible.
