Ha! That is funny, just covered the Oscar Nominee Luncheon on the 7th and the Director for Chile's entry was there, Sebastian Lelio was there----could have asked him!-----My guess is somewhere on the far (north side) of the Barrio Concha y Toro or nearby Quinta Normal-----or could be around the old US Embassy going towards the old Diego Portales area

Perhaps check the credits on the movies, track down the crew names and their facebook / whatever social media accounts, and ask them there. all you need is some low level Grip or sound guy that was there.

Nope, it was a different place. I'm sorry I couldn't help.
Thank you anyways.

Why not try contacting the director?
Good idea, but it was easier to register to this forum :D

I think seeing the whole scene rather than just a still shot would help. It could be one of several places in the centre of Santiago or could even be Valparaiso. Because of the size of the building a main street rather than a small side street. Other than that, too many options. Because of the plant and the visibly open door, likely to be a cheap hotel. The film is called UNA Mujer Fantastica not LA Mujer Fantastica.

I could post a link to the whole scene of ca. 48 seconds if it helps (I hope it does not infringe copyrights) but it seems I'm not allowed to post any URL-s.

I checked out the scene again and found a house number 160 which may help narrow down the location
I don't know about house numbering in Santiago but in Budapest that would make it a lot easier to find a house with such a high number.

160 is a low number here. In theory it would mark the first block of a street.

Yes, I saw houses with numbers well over 1000 there.

In Budapest the system is that you have an "odd" side and an "even" side starting from 1 and 2, respectively, and it is very rare to run beyond 100 except for some long roads. AFAIK the highest house number is 871.
