where can i find work in santiago thats NOT teaching english

hi there, i have been living here in santiago for the last 2 months, i came with my husband, who is peruvian as he had been offered a job here, now i trying to find job, mainly to keep me occupied whilst my husband works, i just dont know where to look, i have tried applying for a few jobs in hotels and even resturants but no luck, if any of you fellow expaters know of any where i can look or know of any one who is hiring, please let me know. i do speak fluent spanish aswell!! thanks for reading!! :D

If you are looking for work mainly to have something to do, maybe consider starting out volunteering? It is a good way to get out and meet people and mpossibly lead to some employment opportunities.

no, no specific skills, i have experience as a waitress, shop assistant and teaching english. if you know of anything, let me know :)

i know volunteering is a good idea, but i am looking for paid work, i spent the last 2 years volunteering in peru, now i am looking for something different.

Try Flannerys Geo pub, as I know they insist that their waters, bar attendants speak English becuase of the quantity of expat customers they have.

Hello there, have you had much luck since you posted. it's amazing how many non-Chilean natives go into teaching English. And the other funny thing is that the language schools are full of Chileans teaching English. The rates are disparate, and there is not much excitement coming from the students either. They really don't care about getting them langange, because the chances,of having to use it are slim to Nill.
