Hi I'm a Canadian currently in Malta and I'm interested in English teaching opportunities in Chile in the new year. I have teaching experience in Malta,Costa Rica,Uruguay and Taiwan. Are the majority of the jobs in Santiago?I'm looking at the coastal areas as well and what is the approximate salary per month?Any feedback or help would be appreciated.Thanks.

If you use the search function of the forum you will be able to find some information already posted.
-The hours for teaching English are pretty terrible and the pay is low even by Chilean standards. A young single person could live off it and get by, but forget trying to do it with a family. Also consider that during vacations (July and Jan-Feb) work will dry up and you will not be paid if nobody is in the classroom.
