¿Qué investigas, Miguel? Dime sin reparos. La mayoría de la gente aquí no entiende español. Yo también sospecho que por lo menos uno de ellos es un fugitivo de la justicia. Podríamos compartir la recompensa.

Just so long as the forum doesn't turn into any one of the myriad of Facebook groups meant for foreigners living in Chile but which are overrun by Chileans who silence via criticism any sort of honest discussion about living in the country.

Have you tried https://www.duolingo.com/ ?

It's free and good for starting with a new language. You can use it from your computer or smartphone.

No worries. I have a Chilean passport now. I am fully authorized to do that do that all by myself.

Then also, I now have a Chilean passport, and that is a lot of work. I still don't care to spend that much time moderating the forum. I have other official duties now as a Chilean to tend to like drinking pisco sours. and not fixing things around the house, pretending not to understand you, and bunch of other things that really annoy foreigners. Just imagine how ticked my wife is. She married a gringo that turned in to a Chilean.

Congratulations! It seems you have overcome that peculiarly US 'live to work' syndrome.
