Purchase from a couple of days ago.
Total is still 32% more than the net price.
I only use Amazon for Items unavailable locally.

And "free shipping" is marked as a Promo, which means it could disappear at any time.

Just don't try ordering on Amazon through a BancoEstado CuentaRUT Visa card, even if foreign payments have been activated.
Would you share why? Was thinking about that.
Nothing much to say, really. I reauthorized the foreign purchase feature on the BancoEstado website, but the sale still didn't go through. Had used it a few times with Chinese sellers without problems. And no trouble using it within Chile v. recently with MercadoLibre.

I saw a YouTube site suggesting using a Mach prepaid debit card with Amazon, but it all seems too much effort.

As I have not requested my new BE CuentaRUT Visa card with chip yet, if anyone tried it successfully on Amazon -- please report.

Under "Actualizar Datos" --> "Direcciones" on the BE site, you can update your postal address. Maybe this is important if Amazon uses some sort of AVS (address verification service) to process the card, and any of the numbers dosn't much. I believe only numeric fields matter for the AVS.

I checked Amazon Vs BancoEstado addresses, there was a slight difference, an apostrophe. Don't believe that's relevant.
Its more likely imo that Amazon have blacklisted CuentaRut cards, given the high levels of fraud associated with them.

Quite possible.

They list yet another method to convert CLP into Amazon orders, I mean the "PayCode" -- when ordering you get a ticket to pay in person -- at any Western Union branch. WU Chile confirms this on their site, and says that there are no extra fees.

On my recent order, they are using Chilexpress (so probably FEDEX on the US end) for delivery and unlike with DHL, they did not screw up my address city.

I have had one delivered with Chileexpress, one with DHL and one with WSP express (??). My guess is that they are evaluating logistics suppliers for the Chile section of the shipment. This is in Santiago

In case of WSP (part of the Landmark Global --> SkyPostal --> WSP Express trio) what was the time frame between the SHIPPED record on the SkyPostal tracking site and the "tendered to local courier"?

I have one unit recorded "SHIPPED" from LAX -- it is stuck in transit for more than 10 days already, with no signs of progress or arrival to SCL.

The "Local Tracking" on the SkyPostal tracker corresponds to the WSP tracking number.

Amazon usually is showing only the Landmark # (from their site there is a link to the SkyPostal).

Rune - 2 weeks from "shipped" to "tenedered to local carrier".
in between there are 2 additional steps, "arrived in country" and "customs cleared".

Wow. Before the "catástrofe" it was one to two days. Thanks.

This the first item that is shipped not by DHL or UPS...

Not exactly that they are evaluating, they just have quite a few warehouses scattered around the states, and so their automated algorithm selects one of the 4 carriers (in my experience). From the best to the shittiest they are DHL, UPS, Chilexpress, or the WSP (BTW, the shipment mentioned in the earlier posts eventually hits the country at 6 PM today, on the 11th day after leaving the US).

Thanks for the info. Makes sense.
And I second your ranking. WSP is terrible- they promise delivery in the morning- same evening a new message says that it could not be delivered, even though I was at home the entire day....
DHL has always been faultless.
