as for where to look, go look. Get out and check some places out. ideally rent for a while before buying.

you need to be realistic. living in the remote Patagonia takes a whole different set of skills and patience. Then there is the question, is your wife really up to that? has she ever lived in a small town?

yes we did in few places, but no more than a year so...

important update:

all of us Vecinos will go tomorrow to make a denuncia a Carabineros.
i hope its good idea, as it seemes there is not a lot of diferentes if we come as a group or individual.
there A lot if evidences though.

anyhow my cedula is so "expired", hope they don't keep it in a black list that you've been victim of assault robbery...

Don't be surprised to find one of the vecinos is helping the ladrones by letting them know when you leave.

You can rent the main house at the sanctuary while you are looking for land. At least you will not be robbed, full-time, onsite caretakers. It is rented now until Feb 15th, and has a 5 star rating at 3 star prices. At least it is a good cause. Your rent will be helping feed and care for 10 mellow rescue horses, 8 happy ex-street dogs and 6 mercurial cats. Studies show that horses lower your stress levels and being around horses actually lowers your heartbeat, very calming.
