I think you have take a memory reset. On your Motherboard there is a battery, and close to the batery you will find a 3 pin jumper, and a green little piece that cover 2 of the 3 pin. You take out the battery, move the green pice to cover the one thats free, wait 15 second, move it back, set in the battery, and start the pc. You have now reset the motherboard (BIOS) to factory configuration.
Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

That wasn't a Reset, it was a Reseat or reinsertion of a DIMM module. It there is more than one of these, its worth pulling them all out one by one and reinserting them (with the power disconnected, not just switched off.) If one was loose, the others might be as well. Memory intermittencies are a pain. Its usually enough to push down on the socket tabs to free it, then push the module back down firmly until it clicks into place with the tabs engaged.

Thanks, Gloria! I appreciate the advice mucho. But we got it. My friend pulled and reset the RAM, and now it works! (A RAM reset?? I never heard of it...) Jajaja!! Life in Chile... I am just amazed that the thing still works after the CPU cooler bent!! (I thought for sure I was looking at a new motherboard!)
funny, that was the first thing that came to mind. I had the ram chips unseat on gaming rig many years ago in transit; followed by many hours of scratch my head about why it would not start. now after moving a computer, and it wont start, it is first thing i poke at.

guess it is one of those lessons everyone learns the hard way.
