again, you can blaim / thank, the yellow mop in the white house.

This is so substantially not a chile driven story. Chile is just another drive by victim in HIS trade war.

The dumb-ass was warned this would happen, and he did not listen (or was not capable of understanding). Now the whole globe is suffering the effects, and they are going to last years if not decades.

guess it could be worse. You could be a farmer in the midwest u.s.a. that is standing in water up to to their red neck, and debt up to their MAGA hat.

FYI, june 1st will be D-day in the trade war to see if both sides go through with the threat to increase tarrifs, and to see what other none-tarrif measures china implements (e.g. rare earth metals, rmb slide, treasury dump, u.s. tech ban).

As a guy who's paid in dollars, "yessss". Seriously, though, this isn't sustainable in the long term: the peso will recover given enough time.

i like to keep an eye on Minnesota planting, because it is at the northern edge of tornado alley and the flooding in the Mississippi river valley, with a notorious short growing season. if they are not planting yet, the rest of the midwest states are in big trouble.

part of the reason i am paying attention to this, even though i could have cared less about planting season when i lived in the midwest on a farm, is the knock on effect to the midwest economies.

farms fail ----》 local midwest banks and businesses fail ---》 Trump looses those votes.

add in the manufacturers laying offs across the midwest due to the trade war, plus price spikes at wall mart and other retailers that import from China, and that is a lot of core and swing trump supporters gone for good.

every election is local. local like is the wallet in your pocket fatter today than when you voted for the moron last time?

those midwest electorial college votes are relatively easy to win, relative to the population density of the states.

well, if you do something stupid, try something even stupider; that way the first stupid thing does not look so stupid anymore.

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2019/05/31/tru ... ne-10.html

trump to impose tarrifs on all mexico imports if they dont stop illegal immigration. starting at 5% in june, increasing by 5% a month until 25% in september.

now china was more of an economic nuisance for chile, but mexico will ripple across all the latin american economies.

Seriously WTF,? Just when you thought he couldn't screw the economy anymore, what does he do? Words actually escape me on this one. China made a smidgen of sense, but this ?
This is just bs+some, tying tariffs to immigration. Watch the markets crash tomorrow

Also people there start to take climate change seriously and pushback more against trump. My guess, hes gone next year (like the way of most of his failed businesses over the decade's) due to the very reasons you outline above.
