Yes Adelaide Oz recently took over from Melbourne as the state capital to record the hottest temperature. I think it was something like 48C with small towns further North reaching 50C. My parents copped 46C 200kms North of Melbourne 2 weeks ago but by Australian Summer standards it isn´t unusual for it to reach that somewhere in the country on any given day. It´s only when it continues for several consecutive days it becomes a bit newsworthy.

Wonder what this summer holds as far as extreme temperatures. Locals tell me February is the hottest month. We are having a warm spell in the 7th region. 34C to 35C for next 4 days but since it is a dry heat, it is bearable. And it cools down at night. Because of the dryness it feels more like 30, don't even need the fan.

kind of warm today, at 26 in frutillar, but so far this has been a pretty cold, rainy spring here. I just figure the longer we drag that out, the less fire danger later in the year. On the other hand, lots more green vegetation to dry out later.

My office. No heating or cooling.

In Serena they start to complain if it gets above 25°C. But the high humidity does amplify the heating/chilling effect
