Just a coincidence that today is a blood moon lunar eclipse and a 6.7 (technically yesterday) occurs. 2010 also occurred during a full moon.
I don't think it was a coincidence. That's probably what triggered it.
Yeah, and they mostly seem to happen around sunrise/sunset from my few years of observation.

Felt it here in Valpo, BTW. Not strong, but quite a prolonged one.

Thanks for letting us know about this.

OK, looks like the eclipse is from 23:36 to 04:48. However, the beginning and ends parts are only a partial eclipse.

Times in Chile time here.

Lunar eclipses can vary significantly depending on atmospheric conditions so this is hard to predict but in my previous experience the beginning and end segments of that time period will be pretty dull, not much if anything happening, and hard to notice any difference in the moon. Basically a let down and a waste of time.

Whereas the middle part, the main total part, from 1.41 to 2.41, the moon is totally eclipsed, and may look quite different, and may change colour, and in some cases even goes a clear red colour.

I'm thinking I'll go to bed at 11pm and set the alarm for about 1.40am, get up for about an hour, and go back to bed about 2.40am. If there is nowhere next to your house/apartment away from street lights, even a 5-minute look may suffice. If there is a dark site you can get to close to your house, it may be worth sitting in the darkness for an hour so your eyes can adjust and get a good atmosphere and experience.

that is a hard one to see. popped out of the clouds, and looked like a little bit of the moon was going dark.

I've got a pretty good view, especially since most of the street lights are still out. And it's not too cloudy.

Yeah just a coincidence, how many major quakes have occurred when there wasn't a full moon? There was a guy after Christchurch quakes called Ken Ring aka the moon man, caused mass hysteria and panic claiming there was going to be another even bigger quake on the1st full moon after the deadly one in 2011 ( there wasnt) I think he hides out in the out back of Australia now, with his "theories"
