Are you expecting it soon?

Well the last one was 1730 with an estimated 300 year cycle I believe when they looked at sediment strata some years ago. The 1906 one apparently was not a part of that fracture.

The local authorities in Valparaiso were very annoyed with this Nat Geo TV documentary first shown in 2006 or thereabouts.
They threatened to take the channel to court, alleging that it had caused loss of property values and psychological trauma to the inhabitants.

As if somehow by denying the possibility of such an event, it won't happen, aka head-in the-sand thinking.

Will this stop people from buying land and building homes near the coast? Nah. It is really sad

I'd keep an eye on all the dogs and cats.

IME, dogs and cats are useless for earthquake prediction in Chile. This from someone who has experienced a mega, an 8, many many 7s, many more 6s, countless 5s and lost count feelable 4s-3s.

What does your gut tell you? I know you've talked about this before, so I figure you're either worried about it. Or maybe just interested in it. And since you're right in the middle of it, and you've been through it before, you're senses could be tuned into it somehow.

I do not have any impending sense as likewise I had no impending sense of the 2010 mega which struck out of the blue with no prior suspicious activity temblores or animal.

Just one of those things to be prepared for since most of us live near the middle of it (imagine the effect on Santiasco).

I have already personally made the decision that if I die because of it or have to start new somewhere else afterwards, so be it. Be a hell of a story for the grandkids and family.

Despite my skepticism regarding feeling as prediction, I still remember the dream I had prior to the 2010 quake where I was on a deserted of other persons wharf of private boats in the San Antonio harbor (this does not exist in San Antonio) with a nearby modern structure with lots of glass (at the time, San Antonio did not have the mall/casino/hotel that fits the description quite well) and I witnessed an incoming towering wave. :alien:

You should look at "10,000 Dreams Interpreted" by Gustavus Hindman Miller. I think it was published around 1900, so it may seem outdated. But it's always been accurate for me. I find that dreams reflect what's going on in your mind. So if you're really worried about something, for example, it may come through in your dreams. And if you consciously or subconsciously pick up on some clues, you're dreams could be a warning. It doesn't mean it'll actually happen, but it's still helpful to be aware of it.

You can find free copies online, like this one: https://nickm.com/dreams/index.html

Interesting. I noticed that when I came here from Peru because there they were good at alerting you. Here the dogs don't bark.

Blast from the past.

February 27th 2010, after cleaning up the broken and fallen stuff in the depto and a restless hour or two of not being able to sleep with the constant aftershocks, my sweaty non-bathed self took a long walk.
