Re: Daylight Saving Time

Guess everyone is suppose to have changed their time. Seems it does not really matter what time you choose, just change your time.

So, I believe the correct time is suppose to be UTC-4, which right now is like almost 7 a.m. (I think)

I am keeping an eye out for all the things that did not change.

Remember the old George Carlin routine? It's 7:00 here, 8:00 there, 9:30 over there, time for the 11:00 news...

It looks like your cell phone is right. The time now is 11.13. You can also try googling "chile exact time now" or looking here: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/chile/santiago

We heard in February this year it was going to be changing, but we thought it was changing in end of March, caused a whole of confusion during Dry Dock of the vessel I was on in Punta Arenas. We then decided they weren't changing clocks after all this year, similar to before. But then imagine my confusion when I flew back to Chile the other day... Changed in May. Seriously, why bother.

I remember a few years back, VTR only changed their clocks on the cable tv box about 16 hours after midnight. And PC Windows time took another few days. Never mind. At least it is free.

Its called confusing the voters, looking generous by giving things to people that cost no money.

The one I laughed at, was the cycle path built down the river bed in Santiago, right before winter, when it would be ripped up by the rain waters. No common sense there at all, total waste of money. (And there is cycle paths running parrelel to the river on the parks adjacent to it for most of the distance too)

North Korea moved its clocks back 30 minutes, so now in the North, the time is half an hour earlier than in South Korea or Japan.

Venezuela the only country with a time zone 4.5 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time ......

Other countries using 30-minute offsets from GMT include India, Burma, Iran, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Like Canada, parts of Australia have 30-minute offsets (they have 15-minute offsets, too).

Oh my, they should just stop. I've switched most of my devices to manual time zone already.
