So you have noticed it. It was a rare SE, or ESE, dry and cool, fierce, at night freezing, but it can dry firewood in a single day after the rains. Changing to E to ENE at this point and within a couple of days another rainstorm is expected from N.

Yes, I had noticed. mr pl says it is the positive ions which set me on edge, which it very well may be. It may also be that the window bangs every time the wind swirls around and especially at night when I am trying to sleep. But this morning the dragon has stopped sneezing and coughing, and my eyebrows are glad of it.
