The traffic law "refundido" article 5, says:
"Los nacionales de otros países, que permanezcan en calidad de turistas en Chile, podrán conducir un vehículo motorizado durante el plazo de la respectiva autorización de turismo, portando la licencia vigente de conductor, otorgada según las leyes de su país, que sea equivalente a la Licencia No Profesional Clase B contemplada en el artículo 12."
which approximately means:
"The nationals of other countries, which are tourists in Chile, are able to drive a motorised vehicle while they are a tourist, carrying with them a valid driver licence provided according to the laws of their country which are equivalent to the non-professional licence Class B mentioned in Article 12."

But see what admin says in the first and fifth posts of this thread.
1) Where is the test offered in the South? Coyaique? Puerto Montt?
My understanding is ALL municipalidads conduct the tests.
2) Has anyone translated the book yet? . . .
I started.

Thanks Andres!

I looked at the Wicki and it looks like you translated the whole book!

Nope. I created the structure, paraphrased the entirety of the glossary at the end and paraphrased a few bits throughout the book.
A lot remains to be paraphrased.
